Ajay Dubey urges CBI to also probe NlIU exams

Rights activist from the city Ajay Dubey has demanded that the entrance examinations of National law Institute University (NlIU) conducted by the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) gone infamous as Vyapam, should also be included in the ongoing Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe of the biggest educational and recruitment scam of the country.

Dubey in a letter to Joint Director CBI – camp office Bhopal on Tuesday said that the Supreme Court of India while hearing sundry Public Interest litigations (PIls) ordered on July 9 this year to conduct the investigation of the Vyapam mega scam through CBI.

Dubey said, “Of the many petitions before the apex court one was that of mine. I have come to know through the Right To Information (RTI) that the entrance examinations of NlIU from the year 2000 to 2007 were conducted by the Vyapam.

The accused of the VYAPAM scam with hand in gloves with the then chairperson, examination controllers and directors adopted serious criminal procedures to provide admissions to ineligible and incapable emulates. This entire act was done to serve the interest of influential and powerful persons causing injustice with the eligible and brilliant students.”

Dubey further said that on minutely examining the documents provided by the Vyapam it becomes clear that the accused mentioned the names of successful candidates in the merit list for the year 2000 but deliberately the names of successful candidates parents were not mentioned in the list.

While in the year 2001 only roll numbers without names of candidates and parents were published in the merit list. The role of the then directors of the NlIU including late VS Rekhi, Moolchand Sharma and Balraj Singh Chouhan is also suspicious because they accepted defected merit list and did not made any objection over it to the Vyapam, he added.

The Right To Information activist told the CBI official to include all those in the ongoing investigation who are involved in the BlIU admissions irregularities held from the year 2000 to 2007.
