To showcase his achievement in past seven months, AIIMS, Bhopal Director and CEO Prof Dr Sarman Singh, noted Microbiologist of the country exuberated trust in his team.
While talking to media persons, here on Friday, he through Power Point Presentation (PPT) shared the progress made by the Institute in past seven months.
Starting with the Hospital Services he stated in the month of June, 2018 when he joined the Institute the OPD attendance was 36494 and IPD attendance was 773 but by December, 2018 the attendance rose to 46120 and 1254 in OPD and IPD respectively. The total number of surgery performed inclusive of both Major and Minor it was 769 in June, 2018 but by the end of December, 2018 it touched the number of 1093. This shows the confidence of people picked to a great extent. Various new services started during the time like Cardiology OPD Ward, Orthopedic Ward, Trauma & Emergency, Psychiatric Ward, Neurosurgery Ward, Oncology Ward, Burn & Plastic Surgery Ward, Corneal Transplant, Occuloplasty Services, ENT Speech Laboratory, Eye Bank and with this the Bed Strength also risen from 481 to 574 with increase in Bed Occupancy Rate from 34.24 per cent to 50 per cent with 30 functional department which includes 18 Specialties and 12 super-specialties. For providing better facilities to the patients and their attendants who visit Hospital from distant places a Shelter Home is established within the premises where they can stay and have meals free of cost.
He further said that on the front of academics also several milestones achieved during this time a few of them worth quoting are MD/MS seats added to three more departments (from 17 departments to 20 departments.
