All 175 passengers on board the aircraft are safe. They would depart for Kochi in another aircraft in afternoon. They said it's not clear yet whether the plane will be able to complete the journey or another aircraft will have to be arranged for the stranded passengers.
The pilots decided to make an emergency landing at Bhopal after smoke
detectors in the cockpit indicated smoke in the plane’s cargo hold and later it was found that it was false alarm as there was no smoke but it is possible that the alarm went off after it detected something similar.
