Agriculture turns a profit-making business in MP, claims Chouhan

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said on Sunday that the Bharatiya Janata  Party (BJP) Government of the State is committed to bring smiles on the face of all 7 crore residents of Madhya Pradesh. “I am not the Chief Minister of the State but I am a public servant,” said the Chief Minister while addressing an election rally.

Chouhan was addressing an election meeting at Bijanagri in Agar Assembly constituency of the State that goes to by-polls on August 21.

Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh has set a record of development in the past one decade. The contribution of all sections of people of the state including farmers, youth and labourers is maximum in this development. The State Government has come forward to play the role of motivator and is bound to provide all possible help to them, he added.

Chouhan further said that when the BJP got the mandate in 2003 the condition of farmers was impoverished, they used to get loans at 18 per cent interest and they were getting exploited by the moneylenders. The State was in darkness, the roads were full of potholes. The BJP Government started reducing the interest rate and provided relief to the farmers, and arrangements were made to provide interest-free crop loans. By providing additional Rs150 per quintal to the farmers on support price benefited the farmers to make agriculture a profit making business in the State, he added.

He called on the electorate of the Agar to make BJP candidate victorious for all round development of the constituency.

He said that arrangements have been made in the State that no one should remain hungry and no one remains without treatment. The BJP Government of State has been helpful to all sections of the society especially for the elderly people for whom it has turned out to be Shravan Kumar.
