Severe cold conditions have taken a little breather due to cloud cover and after fading of cover night temperature is likely to drop by 2-4 degree celsius over South Madhya Pradesh (districts of Bhopal, Hoshangabad, Indore, Jabalpur and Shahdol divisions) during the next three days and there will be no significant change in weather conditions.
The weather is likely to remain dry in parts of the state till December 24, 2022. The hills of North India are waiting for the first heavy snowfall. Generally, Western Disturbances start passing in lower latitudes from October and affect the Western Himalayas.
The movement of Western Disturbance depends on the position of the Sun. The intensity of Western Disturbances has been low so far during these winters.
Severe cold has not yet started in Madhya Pradesh, but the night temperature has started coming down as soon as the clouds parted. The minimum temperature dropped by 3 to 4 degree Celsius in many areas last night.
It can come up to 11 to 12 degree Celsius in Bhopal and 16 degree Celsius in Indore. In Gwalior, Jabalpur, Sagar and its surrounding areas, the temperature may remain at or below 10. The night temperature will come down rapidly from December 18 due to cloud cover. Due to this, gradually the northern winds will start coming.
Day temperature will be normal in Ujjain, Bhopal, Narmadapuram and Jabalpur near Indore. Here the average will be around normal during the cold days. In such a situation, it will be cold, but this time due to very less cold wave, the cold will not bother much.
This time the days are going to be more troubling than the nights. The maximum temperature in Jabalpur and Shahdol will be slightly higher than normal, but in other areas including Indore, Bhopal, Gwalior, Chambal, Bundelkhand, Baghelkhand, the maximum temperature may fall by more than 2 to 3 degrees in the entire state.
