Continuous action against Illegal liquor and drug traffickers in the district have created panic among Illegal liquor and drug traffickers as illegally transported liquor and drugs worth lakhs of rupees have been seized in the past five months in the district.
In the past five months 463 cases have been registered while the figure was 405 which is 14 per cent less.
A campaign against illegal liquor trader has been started by District Excise Officer Ravindra Manikpuri.
Recently, in Pichor circle, 100 litres of country made liquor and 800 liters of raw materials while in Physical circle five kilograms of Cannabis was recovered from a shop.
Manikpuri said that the action against illegal drug and liquor trafficking would continue in the district. He also said that mushrooming of illegal trade and trafficking of liquor will not be tolerated at any cost. The last five months have really been tough for illegal liquor and drug traffickers. In the last five months from April 2017 to August 2017, Excise Department has registered 463 cases in which liquor and raw material worth lakhs of rupees have been recovered Altogether 405 cases were registered in this context.
In 44 cases, 15666 kilograms of raw material was seized. As far as country made liquor is concerned,106 cases were registered in which 334.6 liters, in 311 cases of hand furnace liquor 1885 liters, in 1 case of Spirit liquor 2.25 liters and in 1 case of Beer 9.1 liters were seized.
