Adi Vidrohi drama festival focusing on freedom movement and mass awareness will be held at Bharat Bhavan from December 2 to 8. The festival will get underway with play ‘Madhukar Shah’ directed by Govind Nagdev from Sagar.

This is the first theatre activity organised across the nation which highlights the struggle of martyrs on stage. With an aim to create awareness among the present generation about the freedom movement and to give it a broader look plays in different languages too will be presented. Till now more than 80 plays have been staged under this festival.

The fest Adi Vidrohi would begin on December 2 with the play ‘Madhukar Shah’ directed by Govind Nagdev (Sagar). On December 3, the fest would be followed with the play ‘Amar Singh Rathore’ directed by Kiran Swaroop Pachauri (Mathura), on December 4, play ‘Isuri’ directed by Arun Pandey (Jabalpur) would be staged.

The fest would be followed with the play ‘Chakravyuh’ directed by late Prabhat Ganguly (Bhopal) that would be staged on December 5. On December 6, play Simantani Updesh directed by Rakesh Singh (Jammu) would be staged. Another play ‘Maulana Azad Ki Yaad Mein’ directed by Mohammad Sayeed Alam (New Delhi) would be staged on December 7. The festival would conclude with the play ‘Ateet Ke Vyayan’ directed by Abhay Sinha (Patna).

Notably, for past 10 years this festival is being conducted and every time new plays are staged before the Bhopalites that receives a huge response. Moreover, Adi Vidrohi drama festival has created a sole identity on a national level and always endeavours not to repeat any script again. Further, for the past 10 years plays and scripts have not been repeated which is another unique feature of Adi Vidrohi.
