ADG Shankar speaks on ‘Ba & Bapu’ at seminar in South Africa

The life of Mahatma Gandhi and Kasturba Gandhi has always been the subject of research for thinkers. Gandhiji himself said that Baa has become a teacher of non-violent, non-cooperation art and practice for me. He said that different existences between me and Ba have come to an end. Bapu used to say that I had a wrong practice of persistence. But a woman with strong will has made me quite capable. In the same way, Baa had absorbed himself in Bapu with time, said ADG Anuradha Shankar at a three-day international seminar on the theme "Confluence of Spirituality and Legacy for the 21st Century" at the Phoenix Ashram to commemorate 150 years of the living legacy of Mahatma Gandhi and Kasturba Gandhi. Shankar had arrived to represent India in this seminar on a special invitation.

ADG Shankar made a deep impression among Gandhian thinkers by giving an effective speech on the topic "Ba and Bapu as spiritual influencers of each other and Africa's role in shaping their partnership". How Ba and Bapu (Mahatma Gandhi and his wife Kasturba Gandhi) influenced each other's life was highlighted in very effective terms. She also spoke of how South Africa reshaped their married life.

Eminent Gandhian thinkers and thinkers from around the world took part in the event held in Phoenix from 3 to 5 October.  In which The non-violent movement started by installing Alexander's descendants and Martin Luther King’s companion Bernard Lafayette,  Crispin Hemmson, Professor Crane Soudian and Bishop  Desmond Tutu.
