Chief Electoral Officer Shri Anupam Rajan said that since the Model Code of Conduct for Madhya Pradesh Assembly Elections 2023 came into effect, continuous action is being taken by the enforcement agencies in the state. Illicit liquor, narcotics, cash, precious metals, gold, silver, jewelery and other materials have been seized by the joint team of FST, SST and police formed to conduct the process of assembly elections 2023 in an independent, fair and transparent manner.
Action for Rs 226 crore 13 lakh 37 thousand 636 has been taken by the joint teams from 9 to 29 October. This includes seizure of cash worth Rs 25 crore 5 lakh 33 thousand 864, 19 lakh 57 thousand 696 liters of illicit liquor worth Rs 36 crore 99 lakh 40 thousand 331, drugs worth Rs 11.70 crore.
