In a recent development the in May 22 acid attack case, accomplice Irfan’s wife on Sunday alleged that the victim’s brother killed Sanjay Patil, who had attacked her.
On May 22, the 25-year old woman was attacked with acid and a 47-year old man was found dead under suspicious circumstances.
Irfan was arrested in the acid attack case after it was found that he had facilitated the attack with the deceased Sanjay Patil. On May 22, Irfan along with Sanjay Patil attacked Renu Sahu and later Patil died under suspicious circumstances.
In a three page letter recovered by the police, the deceased Sanjay Patil has claimed that he was facing life threat from gym manager Amol Karmalkar. Among other things he had also mentioned name of reporter of a Hindi Daily Vivek Rajput but till date he has not been questioned in the case.
Another mention made by the deceased was of head constable Dinesh Khajuriya, posted with crime branch Bhopal, who was line attached after it was found that the deceased had talked to him. Sanjay Patil had contacted Dinesh on May 19 and told him that he would commit suicide.
After the fact surfaced in the investigation, SSP (DIG) Raman Singh Sikarwar said that if Dinesh would have provided the information, the incident could have been averted.
With every new revelation in the past three days in the case, the mystery has been deepening leving the police and investigating teams marooned.
The acid attack victim Renu Sahu maintains her stand that she was unconscious and has not witnessed who stabbed Patil. She also maintains that she was not in relationship with the deceased.
Patil’s family returned on Sunday from Hoshangabad and claimed that the family of acid attack’s victim has planned and executed the murder and has fabricated the murder as suicide.
Police are yet to receive post mortem report earlier based on the short post mortem report it was told that the deceased could not stab himself in such a manner.
Important link in the case Irfan who was present at the time of the attack had told that Patil had stabbed himself after acid attack but in the investigation the police found have not found any signs of acid attack at the spot.
