As many as 15 ABVP activists stormed into the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) premises and damaged the office obstructing the official work.

The sabotage went for around 2 hour in the presence of police but the police remained mum during the ruckus created by the ABVP activists. The protesting activists were holding the placards demanding cancellation of the PMT exam, strict action against the culprit officials and FIR against Board officials.

During the protest the activists went violent and broke the channel gate at the entrance of the office and disrupted the work. Mild force was used by the police on the protestors.

A case under section 147, 452 and 486 of the IPC has been registered against the ABVP activists by the MP Nagar police. All the ABVP activists were arrested and sent to jail after having produced in a district court.

During the investigation the police have suggested that the number of fake candidate might be as high as 350 but the number was not officially provided by the investigating agency.

The State Govt later in the evening suspended controller of the Professional Examination Board Pankaj Trivedi. Meanwhile, despite the protest, in an official statement the Board has declared that the counseling would be conducted on the scheduled date which is July 21.

The counselling schedule chalked out earlier would be followed as according to dead line set by the Supreme Court the counseling should be completed till September 30, 2013 to start the academic session could be started by August 12, 2013.

Taking precautionary steps the selected candidates have to provide affidavit providing that in case if the candidate is found non-eligible during the police investigation the candidature would become null and void and the admission would be cancelled without taking action from the concern authority.

A special note would be mentioned in the ‘Allotment letter’ that it is a provisional admission and the final decision on admission would remain under the preview of Medical Education Department due to the on going investigation.
