Bhopal's Syyad Abid Hussain has recently been conferred with 'SDF International Excellence Award' for Emerging Social Worker for the year 2019 by the hands of Kailash Gehlot, Minister of Transport, Delhi Government and Yogi Ajay Rana at Hotel Taj Vivanta Dwarka Delhi.
With the extensive efforts made by Abid, Hamid Ansari who was languishing in Pakistani prison could return India from Pakistan.
Sayyad Abid Hussain had launched a Twitter campaign in 2016 to bring Ansari back. Abid has thanked the two governments and Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan. "This is the victory of humanity and the struggle by Hamid's mother Fauzia, a former teacher," Hussain said. He recalled that External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj had retweeted Fauzia Ansari's tweet seeking the release of her son.
