The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) struggling to register its presence in the state would soon emphasize on its structural strengthening to reach masses, now eyeing the upcoming local bodies' elections, has started raising local issues especially those that affect the common man.

A delegation of AAP led by its state secretary Akshay Hunka on Tuesday called on Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner Vishesh Gadpale and handed over a memorandum to him demanding to reopen the Sulabh Complex lying closed since last four-five years. This complex is located near Central School number 1, at Rajeev Nagar in Ward number 45.

Hunka while talking to The pioneer said, "The locals of the Rajeev Nagar were demanding to reopen the complex since last couple of years and in the mean time approached municipal authorities several times, but no action was taken on their pleas due to that they got disappointed and brought the issue in our knowledge during the lok Sabha election."

Hunka further said, "At our meeting with the BMC commissioner we also demanded that street lights should be installed in Rajeev Nagar besides arrangements should be made for garbage clearing. We would keep close watch over the status of our complaint and if immediate action is not taken over it then we would hit the roads to launch an agitation against the BMC, he added.

He said that now the AAP would tour all the colonies of the state capital and would knock at the doors of the people in every colony to know their problems and would raise them.

The AAP leader said that after the counting of ballots on May 16, a meeting of the national executive would be held and soon after that "we would start work to strengthen the organization in Madhya Pradesh."
