'AAP busy in strengthening its roots in State'

Notwithstanding the ongoing internal problems of the national leadership, the State unit of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is consolidating it. On one hand, the AAP State unit is busy constituting party organisation at the grass roots levels, on the other hand, to connect with the common man it is raising issues directly affecting the common man.

AAP State secretary Akshay Hunka while talking to The Pioneer said, “We are strengthening the party in the State and in the process we are not going for the district units like other political parties, instead we have divided the State into sixteen zones and under them would be assembly constituency body. These zones cover all the 51 districts and all 230 assembly constituencies of the State. Organizational body of all the zones and over 100 assembly constituencies has already been constituted and organizational body of rest of the assembly constituencies would be constituted shortly.”

Hunka said that Bhopal is the only zone in that only one place is included while in the other zones two more districts have been clubbed, like Sagar and Damoh are clubbed in a zone, Khandwa and Burhanpur, entire districts of Gwalior division in one zone, Shahdol, Anuppur and Umaria are placed in same zone and likewise.

He said that this was our organizational strengthening part and in order to get connected with the people of State that are fed with both the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party  (BJP) and the opposition Congress  we are raising issues of the common man. In this process we have decided to launch statewide agitation to register protest against the proposed 25 per cent hike of electricity in the State, he added.

The senior AAP leader said that the final program of the statewide agitation to be launched simultaneously across the State would be finalized in next couple of days and within a week it would be launched.
