The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) burnt the effigy of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya and demanded his immediate arrest after news of his involvement in child-trafficking case flashed in national media.
However, Vijayvargiya was quick to hit back, accusing the CID of being guided by politics rather than an impartial probe. In a tweet on Wednesday, he accused the CID of working as a "Conspiracy Invention Department" rather than being led by the available evidence.
The AAP demonstrated at Subhash Nagar railway crossing on Wednesday after the news of Vijayvargiya’s involvement in the child trafficking case came in. Anti Vijayvargiya slogans were raised during the demonstration, slogans were also shouted over relations of Pakistan’s ISI with the BJP.
AAP Madhya Pradesh convener Alok Agarwal while addressing the party workers on the occasion said, “The BJP stands completely exposed now, sometimes its leaders are found to be Pakistan’s ISI agents, sometimes they are caught on charges of rape, sometimes they are found involved in running sex rackets and now one of its big leader has been found involved in child trafficking.”
Agarwal further said that the people of the country now understand that the patriotism of the BJP is completely false.
The AAP demands that Vijayvargiya and Roopa Ganguly should be arrested immediately and that BJP should sack them from all posts.
Notably, a key accused in the child-trafficking case in West Bengal Chandana Chakraborty has alleged that Vijayvargiya and state women's wing president and Rajya Sabha MP Roopa Ganguly were involved in the racket. West Bengal BJP women's wing leader Juhi Chowdhury has been arrested for pulling strings to get Government funding and licenses for a local NGO that was busted for running a child trafficking racket in November last.
Chandana Chakraborty who headed the NGO that ran the child care home had told the police that Chowdhury, the district women's wing chief, had reached out to the BJP's Roopa Ganguly and Kailash Vijayvargiya for help.
