A number of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) activists got injured as the police cane-charged them when they tried to come out of the TT Nagar Dussehra ground. To hide its failures, the district administration did not allow media persons to cover the event.

Having failed to make proper administrative arrangements at the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) demonstration and public meeting at TT Dussehra grounds on Monday, the district administration tried to stop the media from doing coverage of the event on Monday.

SDM Atul Singh who was on duty to monitor the situation not only stopped the media persons verbally but also used force to stop the camera persons of electronic and print media from coverage of the AAP’s demonstration cum public meeting. “Do not click pictures else you might get hurt,” Said Singh to the camera persons trying to cover the cane charge by police on AAP workers.

Actually the things went haywire during the AAP demonstration as the administration underestimated AAP’s strength that is striving hard in Madhya Pradesh to register its presence as a political force to reckon at. Despite claims of large gathering in the demonstration by the AAP the district administration considering that the emerging outfit has little base took the event lightly and deputed only handful of police and other security personals at the demonstration site.

After the public meeting when the crowd started moving towards the chief minister house for gherao police tried to stop it making the conditions unruly as the crowd was adamant to move ahead and the little number of police personals having failed to stop it started cane charge. It was at this point of time when the SDM asked the media persons in harsh tone to stop taking shots and pictures telling them that they could also get hurt.
