Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) staged protest at Jinsi Square on Sunday against increase in power tariff charges by 9.6 percent by the state government.
The AAP believes that the increase in the tariff charges are meant to benefit the private power producing companies and the government power plants that are capable of producing power at lower rates have been shut down by the government.
Increase in domestic tariff has been increased by 8 percent, commercial by 8 percent and agriculture by 12 percent.
The unreasonable hike was the main reason behind the protest which was lead by regional organization in-charge Dinesh Meghani and district convener Faraz Khan.
The party workers raised slogans against the hike in the power tariff charges. Facts and truth of power condition in the state has been revealed and made public by AAP.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is silent over a scam worth Rs 54200 crore and the whole protest was targeting the scam. The protest would be intensified after the hike in the power tariff charges.
The hike is aimed to increase the profits of private power producing companies burdening the poor alleged State Convener AAP Alok Agrawal .
The AAP party is committed to unveil the rampant corruption by Shivraj Singh Chouhan lead state government and a campaign would be started by the party which will aim at dethroning them in the year 2018 elections.
The scams would be revealed to make the people of the state aware of the wrong doings of the Government.
