To pay a heartfelt tribute to noted singer and theatre artiste the late Sapna Singh, a condolence ceremony was organised at Ravindra Bhavan Ground here on Friday.
Sapna Singh has always known for her melodious voice and inimitable acting skills. She died due to a heart disease on July 23 at the age of 26.
The condolence ceremony was organized by Maahi Theatre and Socio Welfare Group, Bhopal. Sapna not only gave her voice in theatre presentations but she had also done various stage shows. She has also performed for Doordarshan and has always been looked upon as one of the talented singers and actors of the city.
While talking to The Pioneer, a senior theatre artist Abhay Dubey expressed his grief on the sudden demise of Sapna. He said, “She was more than an artist for us. She was so talented that after losing her we as a theatre group have become weak. She gave her voice in many of our theatre productions and had also given stage performances in terms of acting.” Elaborating further, he said, “Sapna was one of the fine artiste we had. She was so poersitent about anything she did on stage.” He further added, “I had a word with her just a day before we got this sad news. It is really shocking for all of us.”
On the other hand, another theatre artist Shavez Sikander said, “She worked with our group only. She was much keen about acting and we have worked a lot together. It is a loss for us.”
Other than featuring stage shows she also worked in plays including Dayaan, Ek Thug Ki Dastaan and Ek ladki Paanch Deewane.
