A sorry tale of JY hospital Gwalior

Published on:

Shabby building, broken furniture, out of order ceiling fans, dirt, lack of medicines and inadequate facilities are the identity of JY hospital of Gwalior.

Hundreds of patients reach the hospital everyday from far flung areas, as this is the only Government hospital available in the region. JA Hospital has failed to provide the facilities to the patients and right now a large number of patients are approaching the hospital, but the hospital management has failed to improve the condition of hospital.

In the JA hospital patients are facing discomfort due to scorching heat. Ceiling fans are not in working situation, if some of them working, unable to provide air as they are too old.

In some wards cooler were arranged but due to lack of water it is giving hot air which creates unbearable situations for patients. In this situation some relatives of patients brought the table fans from their homes.

The building of JA hospital is in most terrible condition and it is so old that its portions could get demolished any time. Due to some disputes between Hospital management and PWD department, this building could not get attention and the admitted patients and medical staff are in danger.

The water tanks in JA Hospital are not in hygienic condition. The water taps are broken and in OPD, most of the patients come here and after their examination they were sent to get admitted in the hospital. At the entrance gate of OPD, there are two water tanks and they have been broken.

Superintendent of the hospital Dr JS Sikarwar said that he has submitted proposals regarding several shortcomings to the Health department and still waiting for them to be cleared.
