A satirical play describing the mentality of today's generation was staged at Shaheed Bhavan Auditorium here on Wednesday.

The Hindi play, 'Chhagan lal Ki Chhori' showcasing the curiosity among the youngsters describes what the young generation thinks about love and relationships. The youth take these relationships as a joke and later they have to face the drastic consequences of the love game. The story of the play revolves around this concept that delivers a strong message to the audience.

Written by Shrikant Apte the play was a part of the three-day drama festival being organised at Shaheed Bhavan Auditorium. Organised by Trikarshi Theatre Group, Bhopal the play was directed by Siddharth Devhade and was presented by the artists of Trikarshi Theatre Group, Bhopal.

The play begins with a busy market street on stage. There was introduced Chhagan lal who is a shopkeeper who has a shop in the market. Over the shop is his house where lives the protagonist of the play, a pretty girl and daughter of Chhagan lal. Every day she comes at the shop to help her father.

Chhagan lal had never restricted her daughter from any work, but there are five young boys (who again play a very important role in the play) after her life. Each of them claims to love her a lot and was ready to do anything for her. Each day they make excuses to meet her by some or the other work and talk to her and just to have a look at her.

After a few days, she is sent to her aunt's house. All the five youngsters were tensed as they argued with each other giving different reasons to love her. But as she returned there was a twist in the story. This twist in the climax changed the whole scenario. She came back married and her five admirers were shocked.

Director of the play, Siddharth said, "This play is a satirical comment over the young society that what they want to do with their life, especially personal relationships."
