Chaotic conditions prevailed on Saturday at the fourth floor of Satpura Bhawan that houses several Government offices when Health Director KK Thassu (in-charge hospital maintenance) and his junior Dr Fanindra Sharma came to blows with each other.
The incident occurred in the office of Dr Thassu, no police complaint was filed in the matter till the filing of this report.
Sources in Health department said that Dr Sharma, who is Deputy Director (in-charge of hospital administration), had been summoned by his senior to his chamber regarding an official matter. After a while, colleagues in the office heard heated arguments between the two officers and some of them saw Dr Sharma allegedly lunge at Dr Thassu, attempting to hit him. In the process, the Director’s clothes were also reportedly torn.
Dr Thassu then approached the Commissioner Dr Pankaj Agrawal and apprised him of the matter, sources said. A decision has reportedly been taken to conduct a departmental inquiry in the matter and action is likely against Dr Sharma.
Meanwhile, Dr Sharma alleged that Dr Thassu was pressurising him to do some non administrative works and when he refused to oblige, he started intimidating him to issue orders of the said work in half an hour. Though Dr Sharma refused to talk about the incident Dr Thassu admitted that they had quarrelled, but fracas did not take place.
