As many as 9768 major operations were performed during last year in hospitals affiliated to Gandhi Medical College, Bhopal. College Dean Dr Nirbhay Shrivastava informed that 5753 major operations have been performed in Hamidia Hospital and 4015 in Sultania Hospital affiliated to the college.
The number of minor operations performed in both the hospitals was 15006 including 9891 in Hamidia and 5115 in Sultania. In both the hospitals, 4.38 lakh OPD and 48,498 indoor patients got themselves registered for treatment. last year, 59 major and 504 minor dental surgeries were performed in Hamidia Hospital. Similarly, 221 major and 724 minor burn and plastic surgeries were conducted, 229 major and 220 minor cardithoresic surgeries, 375 major and 618 minor ENT operations, 692 major and 875 minor eye operations were conducted in Hamidia hospital.
