A nine-year-old girl drowned at an under-construction house at Signature Park under Gandhi Nagar police station area in the early morning hours on Monday.
According to the police, the deceased Rajni Dhurve drowned in a water tank and was declared dead when rushed to a nearby hospital. Police said that the deceased came to the city with family and used to live at the under construction home.
The family members work as labour. On Monday at around 7 am the deceased slipped into water tank filled with water and drowned. later she was taken to a nearby hospital where she was declared dead.
After the preliminary investigation the body was sent for the post mortem.
The police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC and have started further investigation. The reason behind the death would be investigated in the further investigation, police added.
Meanwhile, a 42-year-old man committed suicide by hanging with the ceiling at his residence at Itwara Kanjarpura area under Taliaya police station area on Sunday.
According to the police the deceased Shailendra Kalyane was found hanging and was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead.
Police were informed and based on the information a police team reached and started investigation.
After the preliminary investigation the body was sent for the post mortem. The police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC and have started further investigation. Police said that the reason behind the suicide remained unknown and would be investigated.
