An 82-year-old man died after he was hit by a speeding bike near Suyash hospital under Chunabhatti police station area on Saturday.
According to the police the victim KK Anthony was on his way to home at around 10 am on Friday when a motorbike hit him while he was trying to cross the road. The persons on the motorbike rushed the victim to Bansal hospital where the victim succumbed to death late in the night on Saturday.
The two persons who hit the victim and brought him to the hospital then escaped and are still missing. Police said that the victim sustained serious injuries in head, ear, nose and neck.
He died due to profuse bleeding as when he was admitted at the hospital blood was oozing out from his body parts. At around 12 am the victim succumbed to injuries. Police were informed and later after preliminary investigation the body was sent for the post mortem.
The police have registered a case under section 304 A of the IPC and have started further investigation. Meanwhile a 30-year-old man died during treatment at Hamidia hospital who was admitted after his motorbike rammed into a road divider at VIP road on July 8.
