An 8-year-old boy who went missing after school was allegedly abducted and strangulated to death in the State capital on Monday.
His body was recovered from near Mubarakpur toll plaza on Monday evening. The home tutor of the boy suspected in this case has been detained after he was spotted few metres away from the spot where body was recovered in CCT foootage .
Senior officials declined to give more details and said that investigation has been started.
SP Bhopal (North) Hemant Chouhan said that someone close to the family has committed the crime. The deceased was strangulated to death, but could only be ascertained after the post mortem report is received, he added
The deceased identified as Bharat alias Kartik Mahawar was a class 2 student of Christ Memorial School and went missing after his school finished on Monday.
Panic prevailed in the area after the body dumped in a cement sack near Mubarakpur toll plaza was recovered in the evening on Monday.
The mother of the deceased has alleged that home tutor of the deceased who used to visit house for the past four months had threatened her to destroy her and her family after she had refused his sexual advances.
The parents have alleged that it was negligence of the school as they have allowed the deceased to accompany with an unknown person. The parents and family members have also alleged that timely action by police could have save their son’s life, but the police did not take the complaint seriously.
The auto rickshaw driver who picks and drops the deceased failed to find him in the school and informed the parents and later when the family failed to trace the boy, a complaint was lodged with the Bairagarh police.
The police have registered a case under section 302 of the IPC and have started further investigation.
