A 7-year-old girl died and five other people including a woman were injured when an auto rickshaw in which they were travelling was hit by a speeding vehicle at 11 Mile Square under Misrod police station area on Sunday.
According to the police victim Afreen along with her family members was on her way to Karond after attending a marriage function at Mandideep. Soon after the accident, the victims were rushed to a nearby hospital where the she was declared dead while victim’s father Akram and mother Afroz along with three other family members were admitted in the hospital and after primary treatment they were discharged later.
Apart from the victim other family members sustained minor injuries but the victim sustained severe injuries which proved fatal for her.
The victim was a resident of Karond and the accident took place while on her way back to home. Internal injuries and profuse bleeding have lead to her death told the doctors.
The police have registered a case under section 304(A) of the IPC and have started searching for the errant driver and vehicle.
Police said the victim’s auto rickshaw was hit from behind by the speeding vehicle due to which the driver lost the control over the auto rickshaw and it turned turtle and after hitting the auto rickshaw the speeding vehicle driver escaped the spot. The family members were injured and were busy to rescue other members due to which they were not able to note the details of the errant vehicle.
Till the filing of the report the police were not able to trace the vehicle and the errant driver but the police have told that the speeding vehicle would be traced soon.
