A 65-year-old woman was killed in a road accident when the mobotcycle on which she was pillion riding was hit by a speeding truck at Awadhpuri under Govindpura police station on Monday .
According to the police, the victim Shardha Devi along with her husband SP Namdev was on her way home when a speeding truck hit her and escaped from the spot.
The victim was rushed to Kasturba hospital where she was declared dead. After preliminary investigation, the police have registered a case under section 279 and 304 (A) of the IPC against the unidentified vehicle’s driver.
The victim was a resident of Sargam society under Berasia police station area. The body was sent for the post mortem. The police have started searching for the unidentified vehicle and the errant driver. The victim’s husband survived with minor injuries.
Meanwhile, a 70-year-old man succumbed to injuries he had sustained on April 1, after getting hit by a speeding car at Berasia. The victim died while undergoing treatment at Paliwal hospital.
According to the police, the victim Gangaram Prajapati was knocked down by a speeding vehicle on his way to market on a bike. The victim was rushed to Paliwal hospital where his condition was stable but the condition deteriorated and he died on Sunday.
The victim was a resident of Amarpur in Berasia and owned farms . The police have registered a case under section 304 (A) of the IPC against the unidentified vehicle and started further investigation.
