A 61-year-old man died on Sunday whose scooter was hit by a speeding vehicle near Pragati petrol pump under MP Nagar police station area late in the night on Saturday.
According to the police an injured man was rushed to a nearby hospital where he died during treatment.
The deceased was identified as Baljeet Singh of Bharat Nagar and was retired employee of BHEl.
In the initial investigation police have found that the incident took place on Saturday at around 8 pm while the deceased was on his way to MP Nagar he was hit by a speeding vehicle near Pragati petrol pump and was rushed to Kasturba hospital where he died during treatment.The errant driver escaped the spot and is still missing. Police said that the CCTV footages of the cameras installed near the spot and nearby areas would be investigated.
The police have registered a case under section 304 A of the IPC and have started search for the errant driver.Meanwhile an 11-year-old boy died of snake bite at Eintkhedi village under Einthkhedi police station area on Saturday. The deceased Nitin Vishwakarma was bitten by snake at around 9 pm on Saturday and was rushed to Peoples hospital where he was declared dead.
The boy could have been saved if would have been rushed to the hospital directly but initially he was rushed to religious sacred place in the village and later to the hospital the delay proved costly for the boy who lost his life, said police.
