Out of 225 low floor buses, more than 60 have stop ped plying affecting around 15000 passengers per day in the city. The companies operating these buses cite different reasons behind operating under the banner of Bhopal City link limited (BCll). The reasons which have been pointed out by the Capital Roadways were plying of non-AC buses on AC routes, overlapping of buses on different routes leaving the buses without passengers, an authorized plying of mini buses, Magic taxis and Ape auto rickshaws and negligence attitude of bus provider company TATA is the maintenance of buses.

Capital roadways is assigned with three routes which are TR-4, SR-1and SR-3 and around 55 buses ply on these routes. Out of these buses 20 buses on TR-4 route stopped operating earlier and out of 35 buses on SR-1 and SR-3 only 6-7 are operating and the permit and insurance of these buses would expire soon making the remaining buses to halt completely.Around 17 buses of other operator Prasanna Purple Company on TR-3 route have stopped operating for the past three months.

Director of Capital roadways Charanjeet Singh Gulathi told 'The Pioneer' that the company is posting daily loss of Rs 2 lakh. The problems have been shared with the officials of BCll and district administration and assurance of providing solution to the issue has been given.Companies have claimed that due to the huge losses it would become difficult to pay salary of the staff. The operators have written letters addressing their grievances to BCll and district administration but the lull response have discouraged the operators who are forced to bear losses.
