A 55-year old man, who was assaulted by unidentified miscreants on March 22 in Nazirabad police station area, died at Hamidia hospital on Sunday. Hari Singh succumbed to injuries in the early morning hours on Sunday. He was undergoing treatment at Hamidia hospital for the past two weeks. Police said that after the assault, the deceased was not in a position to record his statement and succumbed to injuries on Sunday morning.
The incident took place at around 9 pm when the deceased was near his shop where he used to work and was later found in injured and rushed to Tripti hospital where he was referred to Hamidia hospital. He was admitted in the Hamidia hospital in a critical condition and was not in a conscious state due to which the police were not able to record his statement. The deceased sustained multiple injuries in the assault, which lead to profuse bleeding and caused the death of the deceased.
Family has claimed that the deceased was not having enmity with anyone in the area and have not raised suspicion on anyone from the area, who could have assaulted the deceased. The deceased used to work for a shop in Nazirabad area. After the preliminary investigation, the body was sent for the post-mortem. The police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC and have started further investigation. Police said that after the investigation, a case under section 302 of the IPC would be registered.
