A 52-year-old woman committed suicide by hanging with the ceiling at her residence in Panchsheel Nagar under TT Nagar police station area on Saturday.
According to police sources, the deceased Saroj was found hanging at her house and was rushed to Hamidia hospital where she was declared dead.
Investigating Officer ASI Ramcharan Meena said that in the initial investigation police have not found any suicide note which could help in the revelation of the reason behind the suicide. The incident was reported at around 10 pm with the police after which police team reached and started investigation.
After the preliminary investigation the body was sent for the post mortem and the police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC and have started further investigation.Meanwhile an 18-year-old girl was saved after she tried to commit suicide by jumping into the Upper lake on Saturday; girl was harassed for withdrawal of rape complaint made by the accused’s friend.
The victim tried to commit suicide after she was harassed by accused Shafiq Ata for withdrawal of complaint of sexual assault against his friend Sameer Khan.Earlier the victim lodged a complaint of sexual assault against Sameer Khan who was nabbed after the complaint and is serving jail term. Shafiq is Sameer’s friend and after Sameer was jailed Shafiq was constantly pressurising the victim for the withdrawal of the complaint but when he failed to persuade the victim he threaten the victim of making her obscene video clips and photographs public which forced the victim to take extreme step.The police have registered a case under section 354 (C), 384, 506 and 509 of the IPC and case has been transferred to Jehangirabad police.
