A 50-year-old man, who was injured after his auto-rickshaw was hit by a speeding vehicle while he was on was at Budhni ghat under bordering Sehore district on December 12, succumbed while undergoing treatment at a private hospital here on Monday.
According to the police, the deceased Shrawan Kumar died while undergoing treatment at Swami Vivekanand Regional Spine Center.
The deceased was a resident of Hoshangabad and was on his way to home in an auto-rickshaw which was hit by a speeding vehicle. The passengers were rushed to a nearby hospital where the deceased was referred to the city for treatment after his condition remained the same.
After the preliminary investigation the body was sent for the post mortem and after the post mortem was conducted the case was transferred to Budhni police.
Since, the hospital where the victim died, comes under MP Nagar police station jurisdiction, a case under section 174 of the CrPC and would transfer the case to Budhni police where case under section 304 A of the IPC would be registered later on.
The errant driver escaped the spot and would be searched during the further investigation.
The deceased was undergoing treatment at Swami Vivekanand Regional Spine Center and while undergoing treatment he died on Monday. The deceased sustained injuries in his neck which were critical and proved fatal.
The incident took place on December 12 and was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Hoshangabad but after his condition deteriorated he was referred to the city on December 16 where he died after ten days of treatment.
