State cyber cell has busted a gang and nabbed five persons including a woman which duped victims through fake matrimonial website; gang was nabbed after a woman who was duped to the tune of Rs 3.65 lakh lodged complaint against the fraudulent website.
Police have seized 100 bank accounts cheque books, 100 ATM cards, 50 bank pass books, 30 fake PAN cards, 20 fake voter cards, 15 fake UIDAI cards, 10 mobile phones and more than 20 stamp seals of different departments.
The main accused used to allure financially weak people of providing money in return of using their bank accounts.
The victim who was duped had deposited money in different bank accounts on the instructions of fake matrimonial site shadi.com. The police have registered the case under section 420 and 120B of the IPC and 66 D of the IT Act.
