Irked over dispute with wife a 48-year-old man committed suicide by jumping into the Upper lake under Shyamla Hills police station area on Wednesday.
According to the police, a man jumped into the Upper lake late in the evening and his daughter and son followed him after spotting him, the on-duty divers fished him out and was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead. The deceased was identified as Arun Shakya , a resident of Shahid Nagar. The deceased used to work as driver of a judge.
On Wednesday evening Arun had a fight with his wife and frustrated over the fight he left housing but before leaving he told family that he is going to commit suicide and soon after he left his son and daughter followed him but before they could reach Arun jumped into Upper lake at Sheetal Das ki Bagia and later he was rescued and taken to hospital where he was declared dead.
Police said that the deceased used to have frequent fights and frustrated over the fights he committed suicide. The police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC and have started further investigation.
