Nazeerabad police have nabbed a 45-year-old man on the charge of sexually assaulting a minor girl at Runaha village on October 11; victim was sexually assaulted when she went for defecation.
According to the police, the accused Gulab Singh was nabbed from Punjab for sexually assaulting a 6-year-old girl.
Police said that the accused’s wife died three years ago. After the death of his wife the accused used to work at a private company in Punjab and during the Durga festival he came to the village and after the incident he went missing which raised suspicion and later in the investigation evidences of committing crime were found by the police.
The vital clue in the case was the information of presence of the accused at the time of the incident and after the incidence his missing after which his mobile call records were searched during which it was found that he has committed the crime.
After the incident the accused escaped the spot and remained missing till the police found his involvement and nabbed him from Baranala in Punjab.
A team was dispatched to Punjab where the accused was working and he was brought back by the team. The accused confessed the crime after he was questioned.
A reward of `10,000 was declared by police during the investigation to provide the details of the accused. Police registered a case under section 363, 376 and section 3 and 4 of the POCSO Act and started search for the accused and were successful in nabbing the accused.
