A 42-year old man was found dead under suspicious circumstances at his residence in Bagh Dilkhusa area under Aishbagh police station area on Sunday. Panic prevailed in the Bagh Dilkhusa area Athar Ahmed was found dead at his residence; police were informed by the locals after pungent smell started emanating from the house. On the receipt of the information police team reached the spot and on entering the house the deceased was found dead. After the preliminary investigation the body was sent for the post mortem.
The police have registered a case under Section 174 of the CrPC and have started further investigation. Family members have told the police that the deceased was a habitual drinker and they stranded relationship with him after they failed to mend his ways. The locals spotted the deceased on Friday and later his friend informed the family members of the deceased. Police said that the deceased died on Friday and Saturday could not be ascertained and would be confirmed after receiving the post mortem report.
In the initial investigation no visible marks over the body have been found by the police and the reason behind the death would be investigated. The deceased used to work as auto rickshaw driver and was heavily addicted to liquor. The friends would be questioned in the further investigation. Deceased used to remain alone in a house near his family’s house. He was unmarried. During the investigation other possibilities could not be ruled out and investigation would be done on all possible angles of death.
