A man was crushed to death by an Eicher truck in Patnipura locality of the city here on Thursday morning.
The accident occurred at around 7 am when the deceased identified as Mukesh lahore (40), son of Ramprasad lahore, a resident of lala K Bagicha, riding a motorcycle was on his way to a teashop. An old person Mukesh Untwaal was pillion-riding his motorcycle.
While the deceased was passing through Chandrapal Ustaad Akhada, his motorcycle stopped all of a sudden. In the meantime, a speedily-driven Eicher truck which was coming from behind, could not apply break on his truck and hit the motorcycle. The pillion-rider Mukesh Untwal was thrown away, while the deceased along with his motorcycle came beneath the truck’s wheel. He died on the spot.
Enraged over the incident, people of nearby locality beat up truck driver and cleaner. In the meantime, police also arrived at the spot, took truck driver and cleaner in their custody and sent body of the deceased to M Y hospital for postmortem. Police have also registered a case against truck drive. Meanwhile condition of pillion-rider Mukesh Untwal who had sustained injuries, was stated to be out of danger till filing this report.
According to report, the deceased worked as a fitter in water works department of Indore Municipal Corporation. He is survived by a wife and two children.
