A 38-year-old man died after drowning at Halali River under Sukhi Sewania police station area on Thursday. According to the police at around 7 am on Friday body of the deceased was fished out. Earlier, on Thursday morning the victim Sajid Ali along with his friends was fishing at Halali River during which he slipped and fell into the river.
Due to the heavy rains for the 2-3 days the river has swelled and current of the water was intense. As soon as the victim fell, his friends tried to find him but failed to search him after which the police were informed and the divers were roped in to search the victim. The search was stalled in the evening after the divers were not able to find the victim.
On Friday morning the body was spotted around a kilometer ahead of the spot. The body was fished out and was sent for the post mortem. The police have registered a case under section174 of the IPC. The victim was a resident of Fatehpur at Sukhi Sewania and was a farmer by profession. Meanwhile, a 27-year-old man was mowed down by a speeding truck at Raisen road under the limits of the Ashoka Garden police station on Thursday.
According to the police the victim Sunil Choudhary was found dead at Raisen road in the wee hours on Thursday. The body was sent for the post mortem. The victim used to collect alms for his living. The police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC and have started further investigation.
