As many as 38 operations were performed till Friday in the 83rd Free Urology Camp organised at Sewa Sadan Eye Hospital, Sant Hirdaram Nagar.
Started from July 25, the camp has been organised with the help from Jai Shivshakti Health and Educational Foundation, Bangluru under the auspices of Jeev Sewa Sansthan. Further, Dr Gopal Badlani, the world famous Urologist of America is rendering his honorary services in the camp.
In this camp he is being supported by the renowned doctors in the field viz Dr CP Dewani, Dr Sudhi lokwani, Dr Rajendra Punjabi, Dr Jitendra Amlani, Dr Darshan Shah, Dr Shyam lalchandani, Dr Kavita lalchandani, Dr Deepak Jain. Many patients who have registered their names in OPD are from far flung areas viz Delhi, Wardha, Rajgarh, Bhopal, Sehore, Shajapur, Vidisha, Raisen, Ashoknagar, Hoshangabad, Harda, Dewas, Indore, Chhindwada, Guna, lalitpur, Narsinghpur, Ashta, Betul, Datiya,Firozabad, Jamner, Mandsaur, Nagpur, Sagar etc.
The patients being from economically weaker section of the society wait for such camps, as the treatment of urology related diseases is very costly and beyond their reach.
It is important to note that Sewa Sadan Eye Hospital, in addition to holding free eye camps, at least thrice in a week throughout the year, has been conducting Free Urology Camps four times in a year.
Today, local MlA, Rameshwar Sharma visited the camp and distributed two free lED bulbs to each of the patients of the camp. The hospital has been distributing two bulbs to each of patients of Free Eye Camps also.
This effort will not only reduce electricity bill of these poor patients but also save electricity of the State.
