As many as 375 science stream students from across Madhya Pradesh will set off on the Vigyan Manthan Yatra on Tuesday morning, an annual initiative aimed at exposing young minds to advancements in science and technology.
The students, comprising boys and girls from Classes 9 to 12, were selected through a rigorous zonal selection process. The state was divided into five zones—North, South, East, West, and Central, with 75 students chosen from each.
The students will depart from Bhopal by Vande Bharat Express, heading toward two science destinations—Delhi and Chandigarh—where they will visit premier research institutions and interact with scientists.
The Delhi group will visit the National Science Centre, National Institute of Plant Genomic Research (NIPGR), Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), Rashtrapati Bhawan, and other key sites in the capital.
Meanwhile, the Chandigarh-bound group will explore institutions including the Central Scientific Instruments Organisation (CSIR-CSIO), Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Punjab State Council for Science and Technology (PSCST), National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), and the Government Museum & Art Gallery (DANISC). The students will also get an opportunity to interact with scientists and gain insights into cutting-edge research.
To mark the occasion, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav will host a banquet at his residence on Monday evening, honouring the young achievers. “The Chief Minister is celebrating the future scientists of the country,” said an official from the Madhya Pradesh Science and Technology Council (MPST).
