A 36-year-old married woman was allegedly raped by two youths in a hotel under Nishatpura police station area on Tuesday. The accused are still at large. According to the police, the victim was acquainted with the accused Bunty and on February 19, he accompanied the victim and visited several places of the city. They went to a hotel where the victim was raped by both Bunty and his friend lucky.
The victim was threatened of life and was dropped at her residence and was told to keep mum on the incident. The shocked victim returned home and did not inform about the incident to the family. But on Monday she mustered courage and decided to lodge a complaint against the accused.
On Monday the victim lodged a complaint with the Nishatpura police and after preliminary investigation the police have registered a case under section 376, 506 and 34 of the IPC. Police said that the victim used to work at a private school during which he got acquainted with the accused and unaware of ill intentions went with the accused. The staff of the hotel mentioned by victim would be questioned and if CCTV cameras are installed in the hotel the footage would be investigation, police said.
Details of the accused have been searched by the police and the police have confirmed that the crime was committed with the help of hotel staff and their role remains suspicious. Police have launched a manhunt to nab the miscreants. Till the filing of the report none of the accused was arrested.
