A 35-year-old man drowned at a river in Harrakheda near Halali Dam under Gunga police station area in the morning on Sunday.
Police said that the deceased Saifuddin of Fatehgarh drowned at Halali Dam.
Investigating Officer Mukesh Meena said that the deceased had gone for picnic with his friends Mateen, Junaid and Rsashid at Harrekhada near Halali Dam where the deceased went to take bath during which he went in deep water and drowned. The three friends tried to save him but failed and raised alarm which alerted the locals and they rushed to their help. The deceased drowned till the locals reached to rescue him.
He said that in the initial investigation it was found that the deceased used to work as property agent and was in search of job.
The police were informed a team reached the spot and started the investigation.
After the preliminary investigation the body was sent for the post mortem and a case under section 174 of the CrPC was registered.
Meanwhile, a 27-year-old married woman committed suicide by consuming poisonous substance at Motiakheda village under Berasia police station area on Saturday.
The deceased identified as Badam Singh consumed poisonous substance and was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was declared dead.The deceased’s husband Vikram Singh would be questioned in the further investigation to reveal the reason of taking the extreme step.
The reason behind the suicide remained unknown and would be investigated.
The police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC
