A 35-year-old woman was attacked with a sharp-edged weapon near Gehukheda under Kolar police station area on Sunday.
Sensation prevailed in the area after the victim Hina Khan was waylaid, abused and attacked with a sharp edged weapon by the accused Deepu Jangli.
The victim was rushed to Kolar community hospital by the locals after informing police and ambulance. The accused holds past criminal record with Kolar and three other police stations of assault and extortion.
The accused was in an inebriated state as he is habitual drinker and create ruckus in the area after consuming liquor. In her complaint victim stated that when she was on her way to Gehukheda the accused appeared and started to abuse her and later took a sharp edged weapon and attacker her near her ear but she escaped with minor injuries.
Based on the complaint after the preliminary investigation the police have registered a case under section 324 and 341 of the IPC and started further investigation.
Police said that a case under section 307 of the IPC would be registered if it would be found during the investigation. Till the filing of the report the accused remained absconding and search for the accused continued.
Meanwhile, Khajuri Sadak police have booked a son and his mother for assaulting son’s wife and breaking her hand demanding dowry on Sunday.
Police said that Mukesh and his mother Shanti Bai broke Mukesh’s wife Sunita’s hand while beating her demanding dowry. The victim sustained fracture in her hand and police have registered case against Mukesh and his mother.
