A 35-year-old man was mowed down by speeding truck near Prabhat Petrol pump under Ashoka Garden police station area late in the night on Wednesday.
According to the police an injured man who was hit by a speeding truck was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead. The deceased was identified as Arun Prasad Thakur of Chandbad.
Police said that the deceased was hit while he was trying to cross the road. The errant driver was nabbed by the police and the truck bearing registration number MP13-GA-6171 was seized by the police. The driver was identified as Salman Khan of Shajapur.
After the preliminary investigation the body was sent for the post mortem and the police have registered a case under section 304 A of the IPC and have started further investigation.
Meanwhile, a 21-year-old youth died after he was hit by a speeding train at railway tracks near Narayan Nagar under Baghsewania police station area on Wednesday.
Police said that a man was found in an unconscious state and was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead. The deceased was identified as Rakesh of PC Nagar and was hit on his way back to home.
In the initial investigation police found that the deceased was drunk at the time of the incident and was trying to cross the railway track.
Body was sent for the post mortem after the preliminary investigation. The police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC and have started further investigation.
