A partially decomposed body of a 34-year old woman was found at her residence in Purvanchal Phase II under Piplani police station area on Saturday. According to the police, Kanchan Singh was found dead in her house on Saturday morning when the police made forced entry into the house after the locals complained of intense pungent smell coming from the house.
Investigating Officer ASI Awdesh Singh Bhadoria said that the deceased was found in a sitting posture. The circumstantial evidences suggest that the body was four to five-days-old and at the moment, nothing could be revealed regarding the reason of the death as the post mortem report is awaited.
The deceased got married few years ago with Sudheer Singh of the same vicinity and the couple has two children, but after the birth of her second child, she gradually grew mentally ill and later, she started living with her parents. Around a month ago, the family had gone to Maharashtra for marriage of deceased’s brother Dinesh leaving the victim alone in the house, he added.
Investigating officer Bhadoriya further added that the house was found locked from inside, which suggests that the deceased was fit to take care herself, but what caused her death is a matter of investigation.
The incident came to light after the neighbours reported foul smell to deceased’s in-laws and husband, who subsequently informed the police. Deceased is survived by her two children. The police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC and have started further investigation.
