A 32-year-old man succumbed to the injuries he had sustained on being attacked by three miscreants with sharp-edged weapon on July 23. The incident was reported in Rajeev Nagar under MP Nagar police station. The victim died while undergoing treatment at Hamidia hospital on Thursday. Two accused have been nabbed by police while third accused is still at large.
The deceased Mubeen Qureshi was attacked by three miscreants Jameel, Amjad and Maulana alias Iqram near his house on July 23.
Investigating Officer SI OP Meena said Mubeen had a fight with Jameel in which Mubeen attacked Jameel with sharp edged weapon after which to avenge the beating Jameel along with his two accomplices attacked Mubeen with sharp edged weapons. The deceased was attacked with sharp edged weapons by the three and sustained serious multiple injuries. He was attacked below his private parts in the thigh due to which he sustained serious injury and later the leg was amputated after two weeks, he added.
Amjad and Maulana have been arrested while search for Jameel has been intensified. In the past Jameel and Amjad have been booked for attempt to murder and other serious crimes. After the preliminary investigation the body was sent for the post mortem. The police have registered a case under section 302 of the IPC and have started further investigation.
Mubeen was undergoing treatment at Narmada hospital after the attack and his condition further deteriorated on Monday after which he was shifted to Hamidia hospital where he died.
