A 31-year-old man was nabbed for sexually assaulting his minor sister-in-law at Nayapura under Kolar police station area; a case of sexual assault was registered by Kolar police on Tuesday.
According to the police, the victim was sexually assaulted by her brother-in-law for four months and later using medicines, aborted her pregnancy. The victim is a resident of Bawadiyan Kalan and came in the month of January to help her pregnant sister at Nayapura during which the accused Dharam Yadav sexually exploited the victim.
Police said that when the victim’s sister was admitted at the hospital for delivery and while the victim was alone at the house and was sexually assaulted by the accused and threaten her not to report the assault with her sister or any other person.
After few days when the victim reported pain in her stomach the accused provided her with medicine which helped in the abortion but the pain in the stomach remained and later when the pain turn intense her mother took her to a hospital where the victim reported the incident to her doctor who told the incident with victim’s mother and later mother along with the victim lodged a complaint with the Kolar police.
The police have registered a case under section 376 of the IPC and section 3 and 4 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offence Act -2012 and have started further investigation. The accused was sent under judicial custody after she was produced in the court.
