A 31-year old man was killed and another seriously injured when a speeding truck hit the motorcycle they were riding on near 11 Mile trisection under Misrod police station area on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Mohan Sahu and the injured as Prashant Sahu.
Police said two persons on a motorbike were hit by a speeding truck near Misrod while on their way to Bhopal. The two were rushed to a nearby hospital where Sahu was declared brought dead.
Mohan Sahu from Bijli Nagar area worked as truck driver and on Sunday he was going to meet his father at Mandideep. The deceased met the accident while on his way to Bhopal from Mandideep at around 4.30 pm.
The other person sustained injuries but were reportedly stable, claimed the police and were discharged later. The victim was undergoing treatment at Vishesh hospital in Misrod.
Police said that the truck bearing registration number MP-09-HF-1504 has been seized but the driver managed to escape. The police registered a case under Section 174 of the CrPC and have started further investigation.
Whether the truck driver was in inebriated state or the deceased had consumed liquor could not be confirmed at the moment. The post mortem report is awaited and after receiving the post mortem report details could be confirmed.
