A 31-year-old contractor died while his cousin escaped with injuries after his car overturned at Jhagariya late in the night on Monday; Bilkharia police have started an investigation.
The accident took place when the deceased identified as Brijesh Rajput was on his way back to Durgesh Rajput and their car rammed into a road divider and met with an accident.
The two were rescued and taken to hospital where one of them was declared dead while other escaped with severe injuries.
Durgesh and Brijesh have gone to attend a marriage in Barkheda Pathani area and on their way back home to Saltapur Mandideep.
Due to the impact of the accident airbags still opened and the man on the driver's seat could not be saved.
The locals rushed to the spot after hearing a loud sound of ramming vehicle with the road divider and hitting the iron railing on the side of the road.
Police have handed over the dead body to the family members after post mortem. At present the police are investigating the matter. Preliminary investigation has revealed that the car was speeding and the driver lost control over the vehicle.
Family members told that Brijesh married around one and half months ago and used to work as a contractor of house work.
