A 30-year-old woman committed suicide by setting herself ablaze at Barah Daftar slums under TT Nagar police station area on Saturday.
According to the police, the deceased Chhaya Nagle died of burn injuries after she committed suicide by setting herself ablaze. The neighbours rushed to her rescue but failed to save her.
Police were informed and on the receipt of the information a police team reached the spot and started investigation.
The deceased hailed from Seoni and after her husband’s death she came to the city around seven months ago and started to work at Annapurna hotel. She used to work as cook at the hotel and also as domestic help in the area.
The deceased is survived with her two children. The deceased used to live in a rented room in the area.
Police said that the deceased few days ago she sent her children to her sister’s house in Indore and for the past 2-3 days she was under depression.
In the initial investigation police have found a note book in which the deceased claimed that she was in love with some Ram and the person has cheated on her but how she got cheated was not mentioned in the note book and the reason of the suicide could not be inferred from the note book and would be investigated in the further investigation.
The police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC and have started further investigation.
The hotel where she used to work and houses where she was domestic help would be contacted to reveal the reason behind her suicide.
